The Octopus Tree, or Council Tree, is supposed to be an Indian Burial Tree. The branches were shaped when it was young to hold the canoes of the Chief’s family. The Tree was planted sometime around the birth of Christ.
The fog rolls in off of the Pacific and through the upper branches of this tree.
